Summary

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage haematuria outpatient clinics, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients referred with visible and non-visible haematuria. Perform diagnostic flexible cystoscopy procedures as part of the haematuria assessment pathway, ensuring patient safety and adherence to best practice protocols. Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, including clinical history, physical examinations, and ordering appropriate investigations. Interpret diagnostic results, initiate management plans, and liaise with urology consultants regarding complex cases or need for further intervention. Coordinate patient care pathways to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment, improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary inpatient admissions. Document consultations, cystoscopy findings, and management plans accurately in hospital electronic patient record systems. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and service development where appropriate. Support audit and quality improvement projects related to haematuria and outpatient urology services. Educate and counsel patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
