Summary

We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Asset Services Manager to join the Asset and Sustainability team and play a vital role in shaping the future of our homes.
In the newly created position of Asset Services Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our Property Strategy by ensuring the group has a clear understanding of the performance and sustainability of its assets. You’ll lead a team of professionals and oversee building surveying services, GIS development, and asset performance analysis. Your work will ensure our homes are safe, compliant, and fit for the future.
Based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office this is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive innovation, and make a real impact on the lives of our customers. You will play a key role in delivering our property strategy.
We recognise the importance of a positive work-life balance—our hybrid working model offers the flexibility of both office and home-based work. To support collaboration and innovation, you’ll be required to work from the office for part of the working week and be flexible to attend on-site meetings as needed.
A full UK drivers’ licence is required for this position
The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing a high-performing team.
Managing contracts and procurement processes for asset services projects.
Overseeing financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and health & safety legislation.
Supporting investment validation and strategic resource alignment.
Driving the development and use of GIS across the Group.
Providing performance data and insights to inform decision-making.
Collaborating with internal teams to deliver a whole-life approach to asset management to maintain and improve the Groups housing stock.
What we are looking for:
We’re seeking someone with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement. You’ll be a strategic thinker who can translate data into actionable insights and foster collaboration across teams.
Essential qualifications and experience:
Professional qualification in a construction-related discipline.
A full UK drivers’ licence.
In-depth knowledge of building standards, compliance, CDM, and planning regulations.
Experience managing large-scale housing investment and compliance programmes.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and financial management.
Strong understanding of Landlord Compliance and servicing contracts and contract administration requirements.
Knowledge of construction/ repairs associated with all types of domestic dwellings including the refurbishment of older housing.
Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
Excellent communication and data interpretation skills.
Proficiency in IT systems including SharePoint, Office 365, and asset management databases.
