The School of Medicine is looking to recruit a 0.5 FTE administrator to join the Research Support Team as Ethics and Governance Administrator. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team providing current and accurate information, guidance, support and advice to staff and students submitting ethics application(s) for review by the School Ethics Committee. The Committee conduct the ethical review and approval of research activities within the school that involve human participants, their data or samples.

The role holder will be responsible for scheduling the regular meetings, collating, providing an initial reiew and preparing the paperwork for these, minute and provide feedback accordingly. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all School applications and follow up with lead researchers as the approvals reach their expiry date. Additionally, this role will also provide support to any external research ethics and governance processes. The role would suit an organised individual with proven administrative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong attention to detail. The role holder will be expected to work individually as well as part of the team.


This is an 0.5 FTE standard position. We anticipate advertising for a 0.5FTE Research Coordinator and applicants will have the opportunity to apply for both posts with the view of combining roles to work full-time, if desired. This is not an expectation and applicants with an interest in this specific role who wish to work 0.5FTE are very welcome to apply.
