Job Title: Engage Teacher

Location: The Grange Therapeutic School, Knossington, Oakham LE15 8LY

Salary: Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience plus mileage allowance

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Rota: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only plus 5 training days

Start Date: September 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Engage Teacher to join our close-knit team at The Grange Therapeutic School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role

This role is part of our NASS award-winning Engage programme, which supports pupils through tailored, alternative learning plans outside the main school setting.

You will deliver Functional Skills (up to Level 2) in English and Maths, along with vocational and outdoor learning programmes—primarily on a 1:1 or small group basis. These sessions are delivered off-site, so travel is required, and mileage allowance is provided.

We welcome applicants with diverse educational or vocational backgrounds who are passionate about alternative approaches to learning.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver individualised learning programmes in partnership with the Engage Lead
Support the Engage team and mentor instructors where necessary
Complete all Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) tasks for qualifications
Plan and deliver academic and vocational education tailored to pupil needs
Support personal development, progress, and reintegration into school life
Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals
Supervise and support pupils at external college or alternative provision
Participate in off-site learning and curriculum enrichment activities
Travel across counties as needed to deliver the programme
Follow the Engage Home Visit Policy and prioritise pupil safeguarding
Essential Skills and Qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in English and Maths
Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent)
Qualified IQA
Strong knowledge of vocational qualifications and frameworks
Experience supporting young people with additional educational needs
Proficiency with IT systems and databases
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Willingness and ability to travel for work – mileage allowance provided
Confident in delivering 1:1 or small group sessions across varied settings
