Summary
The Growth Company (GC) Marketing Team are excited to offer a new opportunity for a Communications Manager - Corporate to deliver impactful corporate stakeholder communications to elevate the Growth Company’s profile as a leading provider of people and business support, with a strong emphasis on its contribution to Greater Manchester’s economic growth ambitions.
Working closely with wider Marketing and Communications colleagues, the role holder will develop and execute a range of stakeholder communications and campaign activity, and find opportunities to share our stories with a broad range of stakeholders.
Whilst there will be focus on Greater Manchester, and our role in supporting the delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy, the postholder must be aware of the range of geographies in which we operate and be able to support stakeholder communication outside of Greater Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic corporate communications plan for the Group.
Deliver targeted communications across multiple platforms, focusing on Greater Manchester stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate communications activity across the organisation.
Identify and share impactful stories that demonstrate our value to external stakeholders and commissioners.
Manage media relations to support key objectives and enhance public perception.
Handle media enquiries professionally, ensuring confidentiality and timely responses.
Lead crisis communications in partnership with senior communications colleagues.
Oversee corporate channels including publications, social media, newsletters, briefings, and website content.
Support high-profile stakeholder events with briefing materials and content development.
Coordinate PR activity with external stakeholders and manage the Group Communications Grid for forward planning.
About You:
Skilled in influencing and engaging senior leaders and external stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.
Highly motivated and resilient, with a proactive approach to delivering impactful initiatives.
Proven ability to develop and present strategic marketing plans to diverse audiences.
Creative thinker with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Extensive experience in designing, managing, and executing successful marketing campaigns.
Skills Required:
Holds a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline; professional memberships (e.g. CIPR, IOIC, PRCA, CIM) are advantageous.
Experienced in line management with a strong track record of leading and developing teams.
Skilled in applying campaign evaluation frameworks such as AMEC and OASIS to assess marketing effectiveness.
Exceptionally organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time and resources efficiently.
Proficient in digital marketing tools and techniques, including SEO, PPC, UX principles, and CMS platforms for effective web content delivery.
