Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public finance and a drive to make a real impact? East Renfrewshire Council is seeking a dynamic Finance Business Partnering Manager to lead and evolve our finance business partnering function, within the wider Finance team.

As Finance Business Partnering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Council’s financial planning, providing in-depth decision support to elected members and chief officers, as well as driving transformation, both within Finance and across the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality finance business partnering services across the Council.
  • Champion financial management and continuous improvement, supporting strategic outcomes and transformation initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with chief officers, elected members, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the Finance team.

We’re looking for:

  • A fully qualified CCAB accountant with a strong track record of professional development.
  • Proven experience in financial leadership within a complex organisation, ideally in a local authority setting.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to lead change and deliver results.
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
