Summary
For further information on this role, please see the attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification. 2.1 The post holder will be visible in the clinical area and act as an expert resource for both staff and patients\clients. 2.2 To act as an expert advisor to all grades and disciplines of staff, in matters relating to infection prevention and control and correcting, when necessary, hazardous and ineffective procedures. 2.3 To act as an expert resource for inpatients and outpatients and their carers giving advice, education and support to help manage their treatment plan effectively. 2.4 To actively promote appropriate support for staff, patients and relatives by visiting wards, departments and community teams, identifying patients known to be carrying alert organisms along with other concerns relating to infection prevention and control, and implementing appropriate action(s).
