Loughborough University, Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering

Research Associate in Aerodynamic Experimental Database Development, Full time, fixed-term post up to 31 December 2028

Loughborough University has recently been awarded more than £1M to expand the existing wind tunnel experimental database which is part of a UKRI/EPSRC award to the National Wind Tunnel Facility (NWTF https://www.nwtf.ac.uk). This is a unique opportunity to design, build and test two references models at several UK academic wind tunnels and to further develop the NWTF experimental database.

The successful candidate will lead on the development, delivery and testing of two new reference models related to automotive and aerospace applications. They should have experience in experimental fluid mechanics, mechanical design skills, project management and managing experimental data. The role will also involve interaction with other Universities within the NWTF and particularly the hub based at Imperial College London.

For more information refer to the Job Description and Person Specification.

Loughborough is a top 10 UK University, and the Department has a reputation within industry and academia for research excellence and producing highly trained, well-educated and professional engineers.

Informal enquiries should be made to Prof. Gary Page, Principal Investigator by email g.j.page@lboro.ac.uk or by telephone on 01509 227205.
