As the Information Management Officer, your role will be to provide Information Management advice and guidance to Headquarters 51st Infantry Brigade & Headquarters Scotland and the Area of Responsibility (AoR).
Your main responsibilities will include:
Support Brigade and Unit dependencies on all Information Management (IM) issues, ensuring proper Governance and maximum exploitation of all information resources
Provide advice on IM policy and initiatives and support the resultant change programmes within the AoR
Support implementation of policy on Information Governance to ensure proper management of, and efficient access to, all information stored on any medium, throughout its life cycle
Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SharePoint and Microsoft Desktop Apps providing advice, guidance and training to other branches to enable them to work more efficiently
Support in management of IM implications of Freedom of Information and Data Protection policy, particularly Records Management
Responsible for Records Management in the Brigade and support implementation of Records Management throughout the AoR
Support in the management of all IM projects and initiatives within the AoR (particularly the introduction of Electronic Working Practices and the Brigade SharePoint, MS Teams and Defence Connect sites) and on the development and exploitation of these within the Brigade Commander’s area of responsibility
User Account and permissions administration on MODNet Official and administration of MODNet Secret Accounts for the Brigade and when required for Units in the AoR
Line Management Responsibility.
