Summary
As a Registration Officer you will deliver a full range of services to customers, This includes the registering of births, deaths, still births, marriages and civil partnerships in accordance with legislative requirements.
This is a customer facing role and you must have substantial experience of dealing with customers and members of the public on a face to face basis. A proven track record of a commitment to high levels of customer care is essential, along with the ability to deal tactfully and discreetly with customers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds in what may be emotionally challenging situations.
Accuracy skills which include an attention to detail and the ability to create both electronic and hand written records in an accurate, neat and legible manner is essential.
The post holder will be responsible for the collection of statutory and non statutory fees therefore numeracy skills, including the ability to undertake financial reconciliation is required.
In addition to completing registrations the post holder will be required to conduct a wide range of civil ceremonies, including citizenship and marriage ceremonies to a high standard.
The post holder must have developed communication skills and be able to present information both clearly and appropriately, to the needs of a wide range of audiences. Experience of public speaking is essential.
This role will involve regular weekend working.
