The Role

At Educato, we're looking for a kind, resilient, and proactive PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding team. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with complex needs - helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and feel safe, supported, and celebrated every day.

For this role, you will be working as part of a team at The Grange School, Manchester, a specialist school who put children first.

As part of your role, you will:
- Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups with sensory-rich, engaging activities.
- Assist with personalised learning plans, therapy programmes, and communication strategies.
- Use specialist tools like Makaton, PECS, or AAC devices to help students express themselves.
- Help with personal care (toileting, feeding, hoisting - training provided).
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide the best possible support.
- Create a warm, positive environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to have experience in a school to apply - we welcome people from care, youth work, social care, or healthcare backgrounds too.

If you're:
- Patient, compassionate, and emotionally resilient
- A strong communicator (verbal and non-verbal)
- Comfortable with personal care responsibilities
- A great team player with a positive attitude
- Passionate about inclusion and helping others thrive

…then we'd love to hear from you!

✅ Essential Skills & Qualities

We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with PMLD, SEN, or disabilities (in school, care, or support roles).
- Is calm, empathetic, and able to remain positive under pressure.
- Is willing and able to assist with personal care and manual handling (training provided).
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and following procedures.
- Can confidently support communication for non-verbal pupils.
- Works well in a team and values collaboration and respect.
- Is committed to promoting inclusion, independence, and dignity for every child.

Why Work With Us?
- A genuinely supportive and friendly team - you'll never feel alone
- Access to high quality CPD training courses, including SEN strategies and safeguarding
- A chance to build real relationships and see the difference you make
- A workplace full of progress, and purpose

How to Apply

To apply, please apply via senploy, or on the Educato Website
