Our client based in the Wrexham area is currently looking for a Sales Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Sales this pivotal role involves working alongside the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure the implementation of the sales and marketing strategy within global regions. It includes the management of high valued sales accounts and strategically developing sales/marketing campaigns to support the development of these accounts and business strategy.
Performance Objectives
• Management and development of key customers across global regions.
• Implementation of the global strategic sales and marketing plans to ensure revenue budget and operational profit targets across your allocated sales channels are exceeded and revenue expense budgets are adhered too.
• Developing and converting new business prospects and achieving the monthly and quarterly revenue budget targets in addition to developing existing business with a proactive focus.
• In collaboration with the Head of Sales, put together annual sales budgets utilizing customer knowledge, sales data and market intelligence.
• Delivering progress updates on performance of your accounts, customer strategies and market trends, while providing industry updates to the Head of Sales, and senior leadership team on a weekly/ monthly and quarterly basis.
• Completion of revenue reports and all quarterly reporting in terms of revenue by channel, overall customers performance, marketplace conditions, and business prospects.
• Ensure commercial agreements are reviewed at least annually ensuring all documentation/ systems are up to date and accurate.
• Responsible for the development and active management of your customer relationships via the various strategic planning documents (Brand Plans, Rolling Forecast, Sales Strategic Plan, Quarterly Reporting)
• Effectively communicate strategic value proposition through all account presentations and proposals.
• Collaborate with the global sales team to ensure synergy, collaboration and a solution driven approach.
• Collaborate with all departments within the business in collaboration, problem solving, consistent communication and elimination of all pinch points impacting business progress to ensure customer/ market demands are met.
• Be proactive with maintaining a regular customer meeting schedule and attend key meetings with team members/Head of Sales. The role will also involve travel to trade/ consumer events as required.
• Identify and regularly provide the product development team with potential new growth areas or concepts and trends within the industry. Make considered recommendations where applicable.
• Process improvements – both within the Sales department and proactively suggesting process improvements on a company level. Propose ideas to ensure the team are working as efficiently as possible.
• Work closely with other departments including Marketing and Product Development to develop strong customer campaigns which will strengthen our clients position in the market.
• Supporting the planning team with visibility of customer pre-orders and forecasting for peak periods of demands based on seasonality or events promoting a balanced and health supply and reducing potential out of stocks
• Support with implementing an omnichannel strategy across customers and with internal marketing teams.
• Have a full understanding of the overall sales department processes and be cross trained on all channels to support when needed.
Person Specification
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Direct 2+ years of experience working with and managing high value accounts.
• Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to travel up to customers, shows, events when required.
• Must keep up with developments our client’s industry within your channel/countries assigned.
• Must have a high standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to engage with business professionals at senior management level.
• Must have strong sales reporting, financial and budgeting skills.
• Must be organised and have excellent time management skills.
• Must be highly self-motivated to set and achieve goals and push accounts to their full potential.
• Must be articulate, friendly, and outgoing in order to convey a variety of ideas and concepts.
• Ability to work to a high standard whilst under pressure.
