The Department of Anaesthetics provides anaesthetics, pain services, pre-operative preparation and emergency services to Broomfield Hospital as part of the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust.
Our department is part of the Division of Anaesthetics and Theatres and has one Clinical Director and Trust-wide leads in Pre Assessment and Pain. Lists also occur at the Braintree Community Hospital which is a standalone elective, Orthopaedic site.
We are looking for a Senior Clinical Fellow Anaesthesia to join our team on a full time fixed term basis.
We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we’re looking for the best.
We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the “as is” and to always put patients first.
The Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+ level) in the Department of Anaesthetics is a key part of our workforce. The post holder is required to participate in one of the department’s on call rotas (General / Obstetrics / Burns / ITU) and will rotate between these roles every 3-6 months depending on experience. Most of these rotas require a 1 in 8 on call (12-hour shifts) with 10-hour standard days, which correspond to a 1A banding.
Please be aware that we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a suitable number of applications.
• Perioperative care and Anaesthesia for elective and emergency theatre cases (various specialties), including pre-assessment of all patients prior to anaesthesia and reviewing patients post-operatively in recovery or on the wards when required.
• Care of critically ill patients (when rotating to ITU and if required when on shift at other times).
• Membership of the resuscitation / trauma team (when on call).
• Obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust
