Safeguarding and Welfare Manager

Salary range £35,232 to £40,590*

*starting salary subject to college salary assessment process

We are seeking an appropriately experienced professional to oversee and manage the work of the Student Support and Safeguarding Team and the Advice, Guidance and Welfare Team, ensuring the smooth delivery of impactful, learner-focussed and high quality services.

You will have a sound understanding of current issues faced by and affecting young people, with practical hands-on experience of managing high level safeguarding casework and leading front-facing teams.

Your career history should demonstrate significant impact over time in safeguarding children and young people. Ideally, you will have experience of managing a team where safeguarding has been the main focus of your role.

You will hold a relevant degree OR be able to show demonstrable experience within a relevant sector alongside holding a Level 3 in an appropriate subject.

We are looking for potential, not an exact match. We recognise you may not meet all essential criteria but if you have relevant experience, the ability to manage competing priorities, excellent communication and networking skills and can work as part of a team, then we would LOVE to hear from you!

This post is based at either Ipswich or Suffolk Rural (the successful candidate will be able to choose their base campus). However, with Suffolk New College being a multi-campus college, you will be required to work at and travel between campuses.

At Suffolk New College, we promote the culture of ‘BeSNC’. Implementing BeSNC is not just a choice; it's a commitment to providing the best possible environment for our learners to thrive. It's a commitment to nurturing an inclusive and supportive community where each learner, staff and community member can reach their full potential.
