Position Overview
Leading a small team of skilled administrators, the post holder will deliver a customer-focused Military Personnel Administration Services at HMS Raleigh. On-job training can be provided, where appropriate.
Main Responsibilities
As a Subject Matter Expert for elements of the personnel administration services delivered by the Personnel Office, the individual will be responsible for promoting best practices and delivering the contracted requirements to the appropriate quality standards and agreed service levels. This includes the completion of internal checks, controls, and compliance auditing. The role also involves promoting the development and optimum performance of the delivery team by taking appropriate and timely action to mitigate risks and reduce the potential for service failure across all service areas. The successful candidate will be expected to identify and implement innovative solutions to meet the emerging demands of the business within contractual boundaries. All activities must be carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations. Additionally, the individual may be required to undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including leading on change to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Proactive and persuasive when required, the individual must also be responsive to the changing needs of the business and the demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated. Reliability and a well-presented appearance are essential, as the role requires projecting a positive image of MITIE company values. In addition to these qualities, the role requires administration and supervisory experience, strong organisational and motivational skills, and a high degree of integrity. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering quality administration and service, along with customer-facing experience. They must be a persuasive and credible communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to develop close working relationships. IT literacy is essential, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of or familiarity with MOD personnel administration applications and systems is desirable. The candidate must demonstrate a proactive approach, with the ability to embrace and lead on change, and be capable of managing short-notice changes to requirements and deadlines. A working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practice is also required, with IOSH (Managing Safely) certification considered desirable.
Additional Information
MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
Required to wear approved company work wear.
