Summary

KEY RESULT AREAS: Provide expert nursing care to patients referred to the Oxford Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) service. Specifically, this would include: Working independently with patients throughout the Autograft and Allograft pathways. This will incorporate both independent nurse-led, face to face and telephone consultations Liaising with District General Hospitals providing effective, detailed communication to ensure seamless treatment during the transplant pathways. Assist in the education and pathway management for DGH services setting up Transplant programmes. Working collaboratively with NHSBT service and other registries regarding cell collection and infusion. Providing clinical advice in accordance with current evidence-based practice. Promoting excellence in clinical areas in line with JACIE standards. Holistically assessing the needs of patients and their cares in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and providing specific advice and support as appropriate. Assist the BMT Senior Specialist Nurses in the development of nursing policies related to the BMT service.
