Your new role
As a Management Accountant, you'll be a key member of the finance team, providing accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. You'll be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, developing financial models, and producing performance reports. The role also involves supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, assisting with acquisitions, and ensuring compliance with financial controls and statutory requirements.Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Producing and reviewing performance reports for individual nursery sites
- Partnering with operational leaders to provide financial insight and support planning
- Developing financial models for budgeting and forecasting
- Monitoring key financial metrics and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Supporting cashflow reporting and purchase ledger reviews
- Assisting with year-end audit and external auditor liaison
- Supporting integration of financial systems for newly acquired sites
- Preparing VAT returns and completing government statistical submissions
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in management accounting, ideally within a multi-site or service-based organisation. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders are essential. Experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and business partnering will be highly beneficial.You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have a proactive approach to improving processes and systems.
