Summary

Deputy Nursery Manager | Up to £36,000 | 40 Hours per Week | Room-Based with Supernumerary Hours

Our client, a vibrant and welcoming nursery, rated Good by Ofsted, is looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join the leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early years professional who is ready to step up or expand their leadership role in a spacious, purpose-built nursery with beautifully designed rooms and a large outdoor garden.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of care and education across the setting. This is a room-based role with dedicated supernumerary/office hours, providing a perfect balance between hands-on leadership and strategic support.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or higher)
  • Previous experience in a senior or deputy-level role within a nursery or early years setting
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety practices
  • Confident in leading a team and role-modelling outstanding practice
  • Organised, proactive, and passionate about delivering inclusive, child-led care

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with operational and compliance duties
  • Take the lead in the day-to-day running of a room while ensuring smooth transitions across the setting
  • Mentor, guide, and support early years practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, and review of the EYFS curriculum
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are upheld at all times
  • Build positive partnerships with parents and external professionals
  • Support with recruitment, inductions, staff supervision, and training
