Would you like to make a real difference supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a caring, community-focused school?

We’re working with a welcoming Birmingham primary school to recruit a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for a Psychology graduate seeking hands-on experience before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or other SEN-related pathways.

Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support children across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in a classroom setting
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
• Assist pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs
• Create tailored resources and adapt activities to individual needs
• Encourage social skills, confidence, and resilience in learners
• Support behaviour management strategies and promote emotional wellbeing
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists

Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

• A 2:1 degree or above in Psychology or a closely related subject
• Genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with additional needs
• Experience working with young people (e.g. schools, tutoring, youth work, SEN support)
• Strong empathy, patience, and communication skills
• Positive, proactive, and committed to inclusive education
• Ambition to progress into education, psychology, or child development fields
