We are recruiting on behalf of a payments solutions provider in London for a Business Development Director to lead the acquisition of high-value merchants and drive significant revenue growth. This senior role offers one of the highest base salaries in the industry plus an uncapped commission structure.
Key responsibilities:
Identify, engage, and sign premium merchants in the UK market
Negotiate and secure high-value contracts, overcoming exclusivity agreements with competitors
Develop and implement targeted business development strategies for e-commerce and retail brands
Drive market share growth through strategic merchant acquisition
Requirements:
Proven track record in acquiring premium merchants (not account management)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the payments or acquiring sector, ideally with top-tier organisations
Strong network of UK merchant contacts or demonstrable outbound sales success
Ability to work in a target-driven environment with exceptional execution skills
Preferred qualities:
Strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills
Resilient and results-focused
Strong commercial acumen and industry insight
