Summary
Subject Specialist SEN Teacher (Maths/ English) - Make Learning Count
Hourly Rate: £30-£35 per hour (PAYE) - dependent on individual case complexity
Location: Market Rasen and surrounding areas
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Hours: 9:00 am-4:30 pm (flexible working available)
Role Focus: One-to-One Teaching in Maths or English for learners with SEN, SEMH, SEMD, and medical needs
Are you a passionate Maths or English teacher with a commitment to inclusive education?
We are seeking Subject Specialist SEN Teachers with expertise in Maths and/or English to deliver personalised, one-to-one tuition to children and young people with a range of additional needs. This role is ideal for educators who can adapt core subject content to meet the unique learning profiles of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and medical vulnerabilities.
Your Role Will Include:
- Delivering Targeted Subject Support: Teach Maths and/or English in a way that is accessible, engaging, and tailored to individual EHCPs and learning styles.
- Creating Inclusive Learning Environments: Build safe, structured spaces where learners feel confident to explore and succeed.
- Adapting Curriculum Content: Use creative strategies to differentiate lessons and ensure progress in line with national standards.
- Collaborating with Families and Professionals: Work closely with parents, carers, and support teams to reinforce learning and wellbeing.
- Promoting Academic and Emotional Growth: Encourage resilience, self-esteem, and independence through consistent, empathetic teaching.
What You'll Bring:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE, QTLS)
- Minimum of two years' teaching experience, ideally in SEN or inclusive settings
- Subject specialism in Maths and/or English, with strong curriculum knowledge
- Experience supporting learners across Key Stage 3 & 4
- Ability to differentiate and scaffold learning for students with additional needs
- Resilience and adaptability to meet the emotional and behavioural needs of learners with complex challenges
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and legal right to work in the UK
- Up-to-date safeguarding training and commitment to child protection
