Health & Social Care Lecturer - Redbridge, East London

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-respected sixth form and FE college in Redbridge, seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Lecturer to join their dynamic team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of care professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 Health & Social Care courses
  • Teach core topics such as human lifespan development, working in health and social care, and health & safety in care settings
  • Create high-quality lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with BTEC/NVQ specifications
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students, helping them achieve their full potential
  • Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement interventions when required
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous curriculum development
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Essential Criteria:
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
  • A relevant degree in Health & Social Care or a related field
  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care in a post-16 or FE setting
  • Familiarity with BTEC or similar vocational qualifications
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for student success and progression
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
  • Experience in a professional care setting (e.g. nursing, social work, health services)
  • Experience supporting students with UCAS or career applications
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms such as Teams or Moodle
