Summary

Senior Housing Solutions Advisor
Job description
37 hours per week

We are seeking an effective Senior Officer with experience of managing complex and detailed casework to join the Housing Solutions team and contribute towards the delivery of a high-quality housing service. The successful candidate will have experience of managing staff and of detailed homelessness casework as well as homelessness legislation and making enquiries and legal decisions in line with the statutory duties of a local authority.

This is a challenging role, and you will be required to have excellent communication and negotiation skills as you will be dealing with people often in emotional and stressful situations. You will need to be self-motivated and proactive in preventing homelessness and identifying housing options and solutions to meet local housing needs. You will also need to demonstrate experience of working with partner agencies to deliver support to vulnerable clients.

Working as part of a busy team you will need to work well under pressure and on your own initiative as you will build and manage your own caseload to Bridgend's service standards, whilst being responsible for the supervision and performance of Housing Solutions Advisors and the Housing Solutions Assistant including managing sickness and absence, regular supervision, annual appraisals and 6 month reviews.

To succeed in this role, you will be a good problem solver who is able to work assertively but sensitively and be a good team player. The ability to collate and present complex information clearly is also essential.

You must be adaptable and be able to react effectively to changing circumstances. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

We really want to hear from you and would like to offer you the opportunity to discuss the role further with our Team Manager Joanne Ginn by calling 01656 643104.

This will give you the opportunity to discuss the role in more detail, ask any questions and gain valuable advice regarding the content of your application.
