Job Summary:
We are seeking a capable and experienced Housekeeper Nanny to support a welcoming family in a relaxed, informal household near Farnham, Surrey. This live-out role is approximately 80% housekeeping with 20% light childcare, but duties vary depending on whether the children are at home. The children are present every other week, so responsibilities shift accordingly between family-focused support and more in-depth housekeeping.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining a beautiful and well-run home, and appreciates a calm, respectful working environment.
Key Responsibilities
When the children are at home (alternate weeks):
• School pick-ups from Farnham Station or local school bus stop (approx. 7-minute drive)
• Preparing healthy evening meals for the children
• Occasional local drop-offs (e.g. to sports clubs, friends' homes – all within 10 minutes)
• Light housekeeping duties
When the children are not at home (alternate weeks):
• General housekeeping and home organisation
• Deep cleaning and seasonal tasks
• Laundry and ironing for the family
• Changing bed linen
• Batch cooking and meal preparation for the week ahead
• Optional: Light pool maintenance (training provided)
• Occasional proxy parenting when the father is away for work (with prior notice) – not essential
The home is shared with three polite, independent teenage children who enjoy football, video games, and swimming in the summer. The role would suit someone who can work flexibly and adapt to the rhythm of the household.
Requirements
• Proven experience in a similar Housekeeper or Housekeeper/Nanny position
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Friendly, calm, and reliable personality
• Confident working alone with minimal supervision
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential for transport duties)
• Enhanced DBS check and verifiable references
• Right to work in the UK
