Job Overview

The Web Designer & Developer will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimisation of the company’s websites and digital interfaces. This is a creative and technical role requiring strong UI/UX sensibilities, frontend and backend coding skills, and experience with responsive design and CMS platforms. The ideal candidate will create user-centric, visually engaging, high-performing websites aligned with business and branding goals.

Working closely with marketing, operations, and IT teams, the role ensures that the organisation’s digital presence is modern, accessible, and scalable — delivering seamless user experiences across all platforms.

Responsibilities

Design visually appealing, user-friendly websites in line with branding guidelines and accessibility standards.

Build and maintain websites and landing pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and frameworks such as React, WordPress, or Bootstrap.

Collaborate with stakeholders to scope and develop new digital features, campaigns, or microsites.

Optimise website performance for speed, mobile responsiveness, and SEO.

Regularly audit and update content across platforms to reflect accurate business information and product/service updates.

Integrate third-party tools (e.g., CRMs, marketing automation tools, booking engines, payment gateways).

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or downtime issues.

Conduct A/B testing, user flow analysis, and iterate based on data insights.

Maintain backups, implement updates, and apply best practices in security.

Support colleagues with basic CMS or website editing training.

Stay updated with emerging web technologies, design trends, and UX best practices.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in web design and development.

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind).

Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal).

Understanding of UI/UX principles, wireframing, and user testing tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD).

Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, Google Analytics, and GTM.

Working knowledge of backend technologies (e.g., PHP, MySQL, API integration).

Experience in Git version control, site deployment, and server management.

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a user-first design mindset.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with non-technical teams.

Portfolio of past web projects required.
