Person Specification Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills, and management experience Previous operational management experience within the acute sector or similarly complex organisation Knowledge and Experience Knowledge and experience of service improvement tools and techniques A sound understanding of HR processes Proven track record of meeting significant national targets Budget management experience, including managing costs, monitoring, and determining corrective actions Evidence of report writing and presenting skills Experience of staff management, including setting objectives, team and individual appraisals, recruitment, and disciplinary issues Proven track record of success in managing change Knowledge and effective management of Theatres, Critical Care, Anaesthetics, and relevant targets Skills, Abilities and Attributes Full range of IT skills, including Excel and PowerPoint Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of staff levels and professions Ability to analyse and interpret data and statistics (e.g., activity trends, financial data) Ability to prioritise effectively in the face of competing demands and work under pressure to strict deadlines Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to motivate and engage individuals and teams Problem-solving skills: able to respond to unexpected issues, provide a first-line response, and identify appropriate sources of secondary support Commitment to improving patient services Commitment to self-development, with the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of key policies and themes in healthcare provision in the UK Commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the workplace and in service delivery and development Highly self-motivated, conscientious, and pays attention to detail Flexibility in approach and attitude
