An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first class administration services to our world class Armed Forces personnel.

Position Overview

Based in the Personnel Office HMS Raleigh, this role provides a broad and flexible service to meet the contracted administration requirements of the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy) and there is the potential to rotate through various elements of professional responsibilities when required to meet the needs of the business. Training can be provided, where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities

The role provides a dedicated day-to-day focal point for personnel administration, serving as the direct customer interface and maintaining close liaison with coordinators and line managers. Responsibilities include arranging travel through an online booking system, as well as coordinating with booking companies, coordinators, and travellers. The successful candidate will be responsible for collating and maintaining budgetary-related information, along with protecting and managing personnel-related data. Duties also involve data input and updating the joint-Service administration system. Additionally, the role includes assessing entitlements to pay, allowances, expenses, promotions, awards, and more. All activities must be performed in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations. The individual may also be required to undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including providing support or cover for other staff.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will be well-organised, precise, and confident, with credible communication skills and a willingness to contribute at all levels. They should be versatile, intuitive, and professional, demonstrating good judgment and absolute integrity. A proactive and persuasive approach is important, particularly when responding to the changing needs of the business and customer demands. The ability to remain calm under pressure and stay self-motivated is essential. The individual should be reliable and well-presented, consistently reflecting MITIE's company values in a positive manner.

In addition, candidates should have administration experience, along with strong organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity. A proven track record of delivering quality administration and customer-facing service is essential. The ability to communicate persuasively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, and to build close working relationships, is required. Candidates must be IT literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge or familiarity with MOD personnel administration applications and systems is desirable. A proactive attitude and the ability to embrace and lead change are expected, along with the capability to manage last-minute changes and meet tight deadlines. A good standard of education is also required.

Additional Information

MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.

The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only.

Required to wear approved company work wear.
