Summary
Key responsibilities:
Performing physical technical inspections on equipment located at Ministry of Defence (MoD) establishments in your region, supported by mentorship from the Chief Technical Examiner.
This role may demand physical endurance, as it entails working outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
There may be occasions where you will be required to work independently to carry out inspections, create detailed reports and adhere to deadlines in order to uphold our service standards.
Perform mandated technical and physical inspections of Royal Engineer infrastructure equipment to ensure compliance with engineering policies, standards and safe systems of work.
Prepare and present all technical inspection reports that detail findings, recommendations and assess risks and equipment serviceability to appropriate Senior Management as necessary.
Provide units/organisations with clear direction and guidance regarding any aspect of IER certification policy.
Make decisions within their own scope of competence/expertise.
Ensure that engineering currency is maintained with relevant examination standards and policies applicable to Royal Engineer infrastructure equipment.
