A well-respected secondary school in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their exceptional team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of £105 to £130 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. - Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, or specific learning difficulties
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) to address students' unique learning requirements
- Adapt and differentiate learning materials to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Encourage students to develop their independence, self-esteem, and social skills through positive reinforcement and targeted interventions
- Collaborate with teachers to maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment that fosters a love for learning
Do you have:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Knowledge of special educational needs and evidence-based support strategies
- Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive devices
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
