Summary

The Visual Impairment (VI) team (part of WISENDSS) provides support to children with vision impairments and multi-sensory impairments from birth to 25 in a range of settings across Wakefield: family homes, early years settings, mainstream and special schools as well as within our VI Resource provision.

It's a 35h post.

Senior Specialist Learning Support Officers work in partnership with our specialist teachers, settings, families and other professionals to support children individually or in small groups, planning and delivering interventions, modelling inclusive practice, training setting staff and contributing to assessment and review.

We are looking to appoint a motivated individual who has substantial experience of working with children with a vision or multi-sensory impairment. Experience of working with those who have profound and complex needs would be an advantage and a willingness to work across all age ranges is essential. Candidates must have good IT skills and be willing to further develop knowledge and skills in specialist assistive technology.

So, if you have an excellent work ethic and you believe you fulfil the criteria we would love to hear from you.
