We are looking for someone who can inspire and motivate others to deliver high-quality evidence-based falls prevention exercise classes to older people. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in promoting falls prevention and bringing about behaviour change related to physical activity. If this is you, our fixed term role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Clinical Exercise Specialist to monitor and support the delivery of evidence-based strength and balance exercise programmes for falls prevention across health and other statutory and voluntary organisations within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

They will assist in providing a high standard of evidence-based falls prevention exercise training for both exercise and healthcare professionals and will act as a source of expertise, offering support and advice, to staff delivering these programmes.

• Contribute to the design and delivery of training as part of the continued development of the falls exercise pathway
• To co-ordinate training courses and provide the administrative support for arranging venues, managing course bookings, registration and certification, and participants’ access to course materials.
• To teach and assess evidence-based courses as components of the Falls Prevention Services
• To deliver training programmes, that are up-to-date with current guidelines and evidence, to staff in CPFT and other statutory and voluntary organisations and ensure training programmes are fit for purpose.
• To work with partners and other members of the Falls Prevention Team to facilitate a seamless falls exercise referral pathway and equality of access to community exercise provision for older adults across the county.
• To use evidence-based practice to ensure all Falls Prevention exercise programmes delivered locally are safe, effective and appropriate
• To assist in monitoring and evaluating community exercise programmes across statutory, local and voluntary county wide agencies
• To support staff delivering classes as part of the falls exercise pathway and advise on appropriate tailoring, adaptations and progressions
• To act as a source of expertise and provide appropriate advice, teaching and instruction to other members of the multidisciplinary team and other statutory and voluntary sector staff and to promote an understanding of the aims of evidence-based exercise for the older adult, with falls prevention being the main focus
• To provide health promotion talks and demonstration classes to groups in the community and provide appropriate information (to individuals and groups) using an approved CPFT presentation, to encourage increase participation in physical activity in line with current guidelines.
