The Support Workeris a key member of the Care Team Approach (CTA), working under the supervision of a nurse or social worker. The role is designed to enhance client engagement and deliver targeted interventions, contributing to caseload reduction and addressing workforce challenges. The CTA model is maintained despite changes in the psychosis pathway, and the post is critical to managing complex clients, especially in the absence of other team members.
• Client Engagement: Work directly with clients who are difficult to engage or frequently admitted to services, providing assertive outreach and support.
• Team Collaboration: Operate as part of a multidisciplinary team including a nurse, social worker, and other support workers.
• Intervention Delivery: Implement targeted interventions under supervision to support recovery and reduce service dependency.
• Caseload Support: Assist in managing complex caseloads, particularly during staff shortages or absences.
• Autonomous Working: Carry out responsibilities independently, requiring experience in mental health and psychosis care.
