Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Over the Counter (OTC) Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service, selling OTC medicines, and supporting the pharmacy team in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers in a polite and professional manner
Advise customers on OTC medications and general health queries
Sell medicines and healthcare products in line with pharmacy guidelines
Refer customers to the pharmacist when necessary
Maintain stock levels, restock shelves, and check expiry dates
Operate the till and handle cash/card transactions
Process NHS and private prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
Ensure the shop floor is clean, organised, and well-presented
Support with administrative tasks and stock deliveries
Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards
Requirements:
Previous pharmacy or retail experience (preferred but not essential)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and develop through training
Attention to detail and good organisational skills
Basic IT skills
