About the Role
An opportunity has arisen within the Licensing Service for a Licensing Officer. Our Licensing Team works to protect the safety of residents and visitors while supporting businesses and license holders in operating safely and efficiently.
The primary purpose of this post is to support the delivery of a full range of licensing functions, ensuring compliance with national legislation, guidance, and local policies. As a Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the council meets its statutory obligations and offering guidance and support to our customers regarding the various application processes.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
· Be the holder of the Professional Licensing Practitioner Qualification
· Expert knowledge of local government licensing application processes to include applications made under the Licensing Act 2003, the Gambling Act 2005, and the Local Government (miscellaneous provisions) Acts 1976 & 1982
· Have the ability to use licensing legislation to support compliance and enforcement
· Worked with customers in a regulatory environment to promote legal requirements and good practice
. Demonstrate your ability to plan and manage a reactive workload to meet legislative and corporate deadlines
. Have used information technology in the workplace
