Summary
We have a lovely opportunity to join a fantastic, friendly business in an office-based entry-level position. Working as a Trainee E-Commerce Assistant at the office just outside of Stowmarket Town Centre on a full-time, permanent basis from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
The role is paying the national minimum wage (which is £10.00 per hour for 18-20 year olds or £12.21 per hour for those aged 21+) initially, but is expected to increase in line with development in the role and business.
The Company
Our client is a well-established business sourcing and supplying electronic components for a wide range of markets. They’re a friendly team of around 10, and are ideally seeking somebody to join them for the long-term and become a much-valued member of their growing business.
The Job
This role will be working with the company’s E-Commerce Manager and Owner on populating the company’s new website with over 20,000 products (all electronic components). Essentially, this is a data entry role where you’ll be looking at information on spreadsheets and accurately copying that information into the company’s website to create individual product listings.
It would suit someone who is interested in electronics, web site development and creation, e-commerce, or product management. You’ll also be finding and uploading relevant technical documentation and high-quality visuals.
While this big project will take up the first 6-12 months of the job, this is a long-term role within this growing business and eventually the role will expand into other areas. That could be digital marketing for electronics, e-commerce operations, web content or more. The training involved will initially be on-the-job role-specific training, however in the future the company may provide access and funding for courses which would benefit your development in the business.
Initial duties will consist of:
Add and maintain product listings on the pre-launch website
Upload and manage datasheets, specifications, and product documentation
Source, resize, and upload product images
Research and cross-check product details for accuracy and completeness
Ensure consistency in formatting, categories, and tags
Monitor competitor pricing to help ensure our products are competitively priced
Work with internal systems and occasionally liaise with suppliers
Essential Requirements
This role would suit somebody who has a great attention to detail, takes pride in the accuracy of their work, has a lot of confidence with learning new IT systems, and has impeccable spelling and grammar. No previous work experience is required to be considered for this role, but your CV will need to show that you have the above qualities.
Essential requirements are:
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good computer skills and confidence using spreadsheets
Interest in web, technology, or eCommerce (ideal for someone wanting to grow in this area)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Excellent standard of spelling and grammar which needs to be evidenced on your CV
Good people skills and professional communication style; confident, friendly, open
Living within a reasonably commutable distance to Stowmarket, with a reliable mode of transport to reach the office each day (the office is located out of the town centre and is a 30-minute walk from the train station)
Beneficial requirements are:
Previous experience in a data entry role, or experience of conducting data entry
