An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our School Organisation and Assets Team within Salford Children's Services working on delivering quality places for children.
The main role (please review the job profile for detail) :
Supported by the Capital Projects Manager you will work across Salford to prioritise the needs of the service through Capital funding including; Basic Need, SEND capital and Capital Maintenance, developing schemes to support this against the available budgets.
Your will be a key provider working with the Service Lead/Capital and Projects Manager to deliver the Statutory Pupil Place Planning Programme (Primary, Secondary Phases and Special Schools and PRU’s) in accordance with the specified scope, quality, timescale and resource objectives.Helping to assess need and looking for opportunities to deliver quality places and provision.
You will be responsible for Creating a programme of projects and bids directing day-today Building Projects against available Capital Resource (e.g. Capital Maintenance programme) and responsible for managing the City Council Technical Partners in this regard.
You will work with finance colleagues to support financial monitoring of the required budgets areas and projects in detail providing monthly reports to the Capital and Projects Manager
Physical Project development you will be responsible for the commissioning of individual projects to support educational needs and individual needs of the school and communities.
Manage the Annual Capital Maintenance Programme and Support the partnership working with all stakeholders, schools and faith groups. Working closely with the City Council’s in house technical team through supporting schools ensuring projects are delivered in line with the most up to date Government Guidance and meet educational aspirations and the needs of pupils and young people.
To work with the statistical team analysing and reviewing of the Pupil Place Planning forecasts data and Scorecard, undertake national comparisons and report outcomes where necessary.
You will be working as a client within the Children Services area, an active and important part of the team integral in developing projects from inception through to delivery as a client side with two days never alike and working across the city with our schools and educational facilities and partners.
