About the role: Design and Planning LecturerActivate Learning is seeking a passionate and experienced Quantity Surveyorto join their Engineering and Construction team as a Design and Planning Lecturer. The successful candidate will play a key role in addressing industry skills gaps and preparing students for careers or apprenticeships in the construction sector through engaging, practical, and industry-relevant teaching.Key responsibilities as a Design and Planning Lecturer include:Teaching and assessment of students on the Design and Planning T Level programme, delivering high-quality curriculum content to full-time and part-time learners, and supporting student academic progress, attendance, and career readiness.Curriculum development and course evaluation, alongside fostering employer engagement, practical learning activities, and coordinating educational visits to enhance real-world experience.Maintaining accurate administrative records, lesson plans, and assessments in line with college standards, and collaborating with colleagues on recruitment events, open days, and continuous professional development.This opportunity is perfect for candidates with strong knowledge in construction education, design and planning, surveying, and a commitment to shaping future construction professionals.What do you need to be a successful Design and Planning Lecturer at Activate Learning?The successful candidate will hold a recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying and bring strong, practical industry experience. Ideally, they will also have experience teaching in further education, particularly in delivering the Design and Planning T Level, and hold a RICS-accredited qualification. Proficiency in using educational technologies, such as Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and Microsoft Office applications, is important.
