Are you an experienced and visionary educational leader ready to make a meaningful impact in one of the most unique and community-focused regions in the UK?

Orkney Islands Council is seeking an exceptional individual to join our Extended Corporate Leadership Team as Head of Education. This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for the delivery and continuous improvement of education services across the islands. You will lead a dedicated team of professionals and work closely with schools, communities, and partners to ensure the highest standards of learning and achievement for all learners.

As well as leading our schools service, you will also provide leadership for Early learning and Childcare and further and higher education via UHI Orkney.

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate leader with significant senior management experience in education. You must be GTCS registered and bring a strong track record of strategic planning, service transformation, and collaborative leadership. Your ability to inspire, innovate, and deliver results will be key to your success in this role.
