Summary
Production Planner, Robroyston, £31,000 - £38,000 (DOE)
We are currently recruiting for a Production Planner to join a manufacturing team in Robroyston. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail to make a real impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing:As a Production Planner, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. Your main responsibility will be to create, manage, and optimise production schedules to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
Key duties include:
- Developing and maintaining detailed production plans to ensure on-time order fulfilment.
- Liaising closely with multiple departments including Sales, Finance, Production, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement to coordinate resources effectively.
- Reviewing forecasts and orders, working with the Sales team to understand customer needs and plan accordingly.
- Monitoring material and labour lead times to maintain delivery schedules.
- Scheduling around key factors such as holidays, training, equipment maintenance, and validation status.
- Proactively identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks such as material shortages, staff constraints, or equipment downtime.
- Using and optimising the company's ERP system for planning and reporting purposes.
- Tracking production progress daily, producing clear performance reports, and recommending efficiency improvements.

- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP systems (knowledge of Oracle Netsuite desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work proactively.
- A positive, team-oriented mindset and the ability to manage workload independently.
