Summary

This is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months to provide additional resource to address a temporary increase in workload.

The Role and Responsibilities:  
The Housing Needs Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Housing Needs team, managing housing register entries and processing homelessness applications that wish to join the register. The role also requires the post holder to support the Housing Needs team by undertaking key transactional work associated with customer and business needs.


Who Are We Looking For?  
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and internet-based systems.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload and use own initiative.
- Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team and develop effective and supportive relationships with colleagues.
- Education to GCSE level in English and Maths Grade C or above, Grades 4-9 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of local government and housing options/allocations service would be desirable.
