Summary
Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Maths & English
Location: Bedford, Tresham, and Dunstable
Contract Type: Permanent - Term Time
Hours: Full-Time & Part-Time (37 hours per week) - Multiple roles available
Salary: From £24,720 per annum (Pro-Rata) depending on experience and qualification.
Morgan Hunt is working with a college in the Bedfordshire area to recruit teaching assistants to join their Matha & English Department.
- Support students' educational, personal, and social development across Maths and English.
- Assist in delivering high-quality learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Promote inclusion and engagement of all learners in classroom activities.
- Contribute to the development of Individual Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and Personal Support Plans.
- Support tutors in classroom preparation, material organisation, and use of ICT/audio-visual tools.
- Help assess and record student progress, feeding back into planning and support strategies.
- Supervise students during college trips or off-site learning, as required.
- Work collaboratively with tutors, SENDCo, and fellow support staff to maintain a consistent and supportive learning environment.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Strong understanding of the educational needs of young people.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Confident using IT and educational tools within the classroom.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting learners in an educational or youth setting.
- Knowledge of EHCPs or working with students with SEND.
- Willingness to work towards Level 3 qualifications in Maths and English.
