Summary

About the Role:

TeacherActive are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a vibrant and inclusive primary school. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and the ALNCo to provide one-to-one and small group support, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. This full-time position will start in September and will be reviewed in the Spring Term because the role is dependent on funding being secured.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support children with ALN, including those with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social/emotional difficulties.

  
  

• Implement and adapt learning activities based on individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  
  

• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

  
  

• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher and ALNCo.

  
  

• Encourage positive behaviour and help to develop social and emotional skills.

  
  

• Attend training and contribute to team meetings as required.

  
  The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting, particularly those with additional needs (minimum 6 months experience)

    
    

  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with a range of ALN.

    
    

  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach to working with children.

    
    

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    
    

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
