Summary

Garden Maintenance Team Leader | Orpington / Dartford | Full Time | Circa £38,000 (plus overtime) depending on experience

Our client is a long-established landscape company that requires an experienced team leader to join their highly respected firm.

The company look after a variety of commercial and domestic properties and is looking for a candidate with a high level of experience to join the team.

In this role, there is the potential for advancement beyond garden maintenance to include responsibilities such as pricing and, eventually, managerial duties. This opportunity is best suited for someone ambitious and eager to grow within the company.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Horticultural qualifications
• A minimum of 2 years of team leader experience
• A good eye for detail, punctual & reliable with a good work ethic
• Good knowledge of plants, garden maintenance & the tools used (power & hand)
• Good organisational skills, well presented & good communication skills
• An enthusiastic & passionate attitude towards their work
• Clean driver’s licence.
• Some sites may require a DBS certificate, so this will be applied for if the position is offered

What will your role look like?

• Maintain client gardens to a high standard through regular upkeep
• Carry out seasonal tasks and activities (e.g. planting, pruning, mulching)
• Perform lawn care duties including mowing, fertilizing, and moss control
• Manage weed, pest, and insect control across all areas
• Trim hedges and maintain shrubs and trees as required
• Install seasonal bedding arrangements (Spring, Summer, Winter)
• Operate and maintain tools and machinery such as mowers, blowers, hedge trimmers, long-arm trimmers, scarifiers, and pressure washers
• Operate and maintain assigned vehicle/van
• Transport and dispose of green waste at local refuse sites
• Liaise and communicate directly with clients as required
• Handle and store client keys and alarm/security codes securely
• Perform ad hoc tasks as required to support the team and meet client expectations
