DWP is looking to fill 3 roles in Contract Management and Partner Delivery directorate. The roles available will be based in one of the below:

About Contract Management and Partner Delivery

Contract Management and Partner Delivery (CMPD) is responsible for managing DWP’s multi-billion-pound contracts and grants with suppliers and local authorities delivering employment support, health assessments, and financial support to a range of citizens, including those who are disabled, have health conditions, are in long term unemployment or at risk of financial hardship.

About HAAD ( Health Assessment Account Division )

HAAD is a Division which manages the new Functional Assessment Service (FAS) contracts delivered by specialist Assessment Suppliers. FAS was created following a recent combining and restructuring of WCA / Specialist Benefits and PIP health assessment contracts and offers a unique opportunity to help shape the way we do things, as we strive to deliver excellence in performance and customer service. ​

​The new Division forms a multi-disciplinary work area which collaborates and works across various professions in DWP from operations and finance to commercial and contract management to ensure DWP’s claimants, who are amongst the most vulnerable people in society, are treated in the way we would want for our family members.

Frequent travel, including overnight stays is a requirement of this role.

We are looking to recruit 3 Account Managers, as an Account Manager you are required to be an active member of the HAAD senior leadership group, communicating a clear and compelling vision to teams, partners and suppliers. You will support delivery of CMPD and DWP aims and objectives, role modelling a culture that strives for excellence.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of contracted Providers to ensure effective and compliant contract management is in place, as well as influencing providers to ensure the provision of high-quality, cost-effective services, ultimately achieving better value for money for United Kingdom (UK) taxpayers.

You will be required to operate with autonomy, whilst ensuring you remain coordinated with other contract management teams and the wider organisation by building and sustaining effective relationships across CMPD, FG and the wider Department as well gaining the confidence of the senior leaders within the Provider community.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the management of the contracted provider to deliver consistent, timely and high-quality outcomes to customers, drawing upon your experience of working with third parties to deliver results.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to a geographically dispersed team, with visible leadership across the Directorate, suppliers and DWP, motivating and empowering direct reports, enabling them to deliver to the highest standard.  
  • Point of contact relating to all performance aspects of contracted services supporting your account.
  • Work closely with providers to ensure they comply with clear standards, terms, aims and expectations in accordance with contracts.
  • Being comfortable challenging and seeking rectification action when target performance levels are not being achieved, ensuring value for money and efficient use of contracts at all levels.
  • Driving continuous improvement and encourage the sharing of knowledge and best practice, fostering a culture of feedback, learning, and iteration to enhance ways of working.
  • You will lead continuous improvement initiatives and corporate governance seeking to improve the quality, consistency and timeliness of delivery criteria.
  • Proven ability to build strong, influential and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including those in senior positions.

Hybrid working

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.

This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
