Summary
About the Role:
We are currently seeking an ambitious and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s growing team. This role is ideal for a QS who is confident running multiple projects with minimal support and is looking to progress towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all commercial aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion.
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.
Perform cost control, value engineering, and risk management for projects.
Oversee procurement, subcontractor orders, and contract administration.
Prepare and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
Maintain excellent relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Provide commercial advice to project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Ability to run multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Ideally someone progressing towards Senior QS level.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar construction-related discipline.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
Full UK driving licence.
Package & Benefits:
Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum.
Car Allowance: Provided.
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm.
Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays (average of 5 days to be kept for Christmas shut down).
Birthday Off: Additional day off on your birthday following probation.
Loyalty Leave: Extra 5 days annual leave at years 5, 10, and 15. Plus, one extra day after 5, 10, and 15 years respectively.
Pension: Nest scheme (Employee 5%, Employer 5%, including Government allowance) commencing after 2 months.
Private Health Care: Auto enrolment after probation.
Death in Service: 3x salary after probation.
Company Bonus Scheme: Auto enrolment following one full financial year.
Mileage: In line with HMRC guidance.
Probation Period: 6 months.
