Join Us as an Employment Adviser – Make a Real Impact on the Lives of Young People in West Lothian
We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds
Are you passionate about helping young people unlock their potential and take the next step toward a brighter future? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Employment Adviser to join our Access2Employment team and support the economic growth of West Lothian by guiding young people aged 16–24 into employment, education, or training.
In this rewarding role, you’ll work directly with young residents who may face barriers to employment, offering tailored advice, practical support, and access to vital opportunities. You’ll also build strong partnerships and networks across the region to help connect individuals with the right services and employers.
As part of Access2Employment, you’ll be joining a dedicated team that supports all West Lothian residents, but this role is specifically focused on making a difference for our young people.
Please note: This post is to cover maternity leave and is currently funded until March 2026. However, if additional funding is secured, the contract is expected to be extended until October 2026.
If you’re motivated by empowering others, thrive on building relationships, and want to play a part in creating positive change in your community—this is the role for you.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
