Your new role
My client are seeking a proactive and experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile college refurbishment project in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong reputation for quality and safety in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Manager in overseeing day-to-day site operations
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work is completed to programme
- Monitor health & safety compliance and maintain site records
- Support with site inductions, toolbox talks, and quality checks
- Liaise with the project team, suppliers, and college representatives
- Help manage logistics, deliveries, and site cleanliness
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a similar role within construction, ideally on refurbishment or education projects
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- CSCS card
- First Aid at Work (preferred)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
