The Enforcement Officer will undertake a range of enforcement activities to resolve, amongst other things, rough sleeping, anti-social behaviour, public nuisance, environmental crime, highway infringement, licensing and any other related area of enforcement deemed appropriate and necessary across community safety, enforcement and the public protection arenas (not exhaustive).
Shift patterns apply including weekends twice a month
Job Context:

1. The Enforcement Officer reports to a Senior Enforcement Officer who in turn reports into the Enforcement manager.. Overall accountability to the Head of service for Enforcement and Community Safety.

2. The Enforcement Officer will work across ward and boundaries and will be supervised by Senior Enforcement Officers.

3. The Enforcement Officer will undertake a range of enforcement activities to resolve, amongst other things, rough sleeping, anti-social behaviour, public nuisance, environmental crime, highway infringement, licensing and any other related area of enforcement deemed appropriate and necessary across community safety, enforcement and the public protection arenas (not exhaustive).

4. The post holder will be required to work outside normal office hours including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays in order to meet service requirements

Qualifications

1. Possession of current and valid Community Safety Accreditation Certificate (or equivalent)

Will need to work towards passing the CSAS NPPV/2 Vetting

2. Disclosure and Barring Scheme clearance

3. Possession of a full current manual driving licence (provisional driving licence will not be accepted)

This is a career graded post and officers will start on grade 6 and work towards the top of grade 7 depending on the completion of a skills competency
KNOWLEDGE

Understanding of relevant legislation and guidance including;

1. Knowledge of ASB Crime and Policing Act 2014

2. Knowledge of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998

Knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000
3. RIPA), Criminal Procedures and Investigation Acts 1996 (Disclosure)

4. Knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Highways Act 1980 and Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005.

5. Traffic Management Act 2004


6. Understanding of court procedures and ability to prepare civil/criminal case papers,

7. Understanding of Data Protection Act 1998/2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

8. Understanding of the Human Rights Act 1998

9. Knowledge of and commitment to equal opportunities policies and anti-discriminatory practice (READI).
