Summary
Are you a multi-skilled maintenance person with a hands on approach and a caring attitude? We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive maintenance person to join our friendly team at Zoar Care Home, this is a temporary role providing essential support during a period of staff absence.
About the Role:
As the Maintenance person you will be responsible for ensuring the home remains safe, comfortable and well maintained for our residents and staff. Your duties will include:
Carrying out regulatory checks (Fire, call points, water temperatures etc)
• Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks throughout the home.
• Undertaking safety checks on equipment (including profiling beds, wheelchairs, hoists), removing faulty equipment from use and reporting faults to the equipment providers for repairs/replacements.
• Undertaking decorating work, painting, wallpapering, basic repairs.
• Performing small plumbing jobs (fixing leaks, unblocking sinks/toilets).
• Removing old furniture and installing new items safely and efficiently when required.
• Supporting the home in maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors (gritting pathways in bad weather, ensuring clear pathways inside and outside the home).
• 3 to 4 days per week, 8am to 4pm, between Monday to Friday. (Weekends and Public holidays are not normally worked, however some flexibilty may be required in a emergency situations).
What we are looking for:
• Proven experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role.
• A broad skillset including decorating, minor plumbing and general DIY.
• Ability to complete health & safety and maintenance checks accurately using digital tools (tablet/computer).
• A good understanding of regulatory and safety requirements in a residential or care setting e.g. Fire checks, Legionella (Water temperature) checks
• Friendly professional approach with a can-do attitude
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
