Lecturer opportunity

We're seeking a motivated and learner-focused Lecturer to join our college team. You'll teach across a range of programmes - delivering knowledge, building skills, and creating inclusive learning experiences. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What you'll do:

Plan and deliver learning

  • Design and deliver inclusive, high-quality lessons.
  • Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.

Support learner development

  • Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.

Enhance curriculum and quality

  • Keep course content current and aligned with industry standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.

Collaborate and uphold standards

  • Work with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
  • Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.

What we're looking for

You'll need:

  • A relevant subject qualification (e.g. degree or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • The ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.

Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Business.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in business, across a range of levels of further education, higher education and/or apprenticeship provision, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

This post requires a strong background in Business, or related field and the candidate must have proven track record of professional and vocational expertise, ideally in business management, finance, marketing, customer relations and business administration.

The candidate must ideally be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and/or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work may include evening and weekends according to business needs. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a well-motivated, cohesive and successful team.
